Baadshah of Bollywood, heart throb on-screen but off-screen he is making news for all the wrong reasons lately. It is a known fact that Shahrukh co-owns one of the Indian Premier League franchise, Kolkata Knight Riders. Latest news is that he is to be banned by Mumbai Cricket Association(MCA) from entering the Wankhede Stadium for 5 years following a tiff he had with security and officials of MCA.
“Shahrukh misbehaved and abused the MCA security personnel as well as MCA officials, including our president Vilasrao Deshmukh, after the IPL match between KKR and Mumbai Indians. We have decided to ban him for life from entering the stadium in future. The MCA security personnel told them they can not do so as the match was over which led to Shahrukh abusing them as well as the MCA officials. There was manhandling too by his people. We have decided to ban him from all future matches at the stadium. We are also going to lodge a police complaint against him.” MCA treasurer Ravi Savant said.

After the match, MI’s 32 run defeat to KKR, Shahrukh and his bunch of bodyguards had gone up to the teams’ dressing room and then came down and started to go on to the ground, Savant said in an interview that he has given to a popular TV channel. In reply to a question, whether the MCA would lodge a complaint with the BCCI on his behaviour, Savant said “Of course we will lodge a complaint with the BCCI also”. He added that the issue had taken place in the presence of IPL CEO Sundar Raman and BCCI’s media manager Devendra Prabhudesai itself.
Reacting to this SRK spoke to the media and clearly denied he had misbehaved but said he was reacting to the unethical behavior of officials at the stadium. “I saw security guards manhandling the children and when I objected a group of officials came over and started to threaten me. I said a few things in anger. I was one and they were 20-25 officials and they were extremely rude. There was nothing illegal, I was not on the pitch”.
This controversy involving one of the prestigious franchise owners, Shahrukh has come a few days after the IPL T-20 tournament was rocked by a secret operation carried out by a private TV news channel in which five players were caught allegedly trying to indulge in match/spot fixing. The BCCI has appointed Ravi Sawani(its recently appointed Anti-Corruption in-charge) to probe the matter. The five accused players, meanwhile, have been suspended from taking part in any match until the matter is settled.
