Bajaj Launches The All New Pulsar 200 NS; To Be Priced Below Rs.1 Lakh

Bajaj has launched today a completely new version of its very popular Pulsar 200. The all new version is named Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS (NS for Naked Sport) and is a top performing sports bike. The new Pulsar 200 NS is a radical shift from its predecessor and holds no similarity to the old Pulsar 200. The Pulsar 200 NS looks completely different from the old one and also has a newer engine to boost its performance.

The Pulsar 200 NS will have a 199.5 CC SOHC 4 valve liquid cooled Triple Spark engine which produces a maximum power of 23.5 PS @ 9500 RPM and the torque is 18.3 NM @ 8000 RPM. Pulsar 200 NS will be the first bike to use the Triple Spark engine technology which helps in improving the fuel efficiency and the performance of the bike. The bike has a 6 speed gear box and it will not be using the fuel injection system to keep down the costs in a very price sensitive market like India.

Bajaj claims that the Pulsar 200 NS will have a fuel efficiency of 200 Kmpl when driven in the 50-60 Kmph range. The Pulsar 200 NS will reach the 0-60 Kmph mark in a mind boggling 3.61 seconds and the 0-100 Kmph mark in just 9.83 seconds.

The Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS will be manufactured at Bajaj’s Chakan plant and is expected to be available from April 2012. Rahul Bajaj, MD, Bajaj Auto has announced that the price of the Pulsar 200 NS would be below Rs.1 Lakh (Rs. 1,00,000).

Rajiv Bajaj, MD, Bajaj Auto said, “The Bajaj Pulsar 200NS is best middle-class sports bike. It will be commercially launched beginning next fiscal through 600 dealers across the country. The price is expected to be below Rs 1 lakh,” at the launch event.
