A recent survey by Ipsos Global has found out that Indians are among the most happiest people in the world. The survey which was conducted in 24 countries and surveyed more than 18,000 people since 2007 has ranked India at the number two position in its list of very happy countries in the world.
Among the respondents of the survey nearly 75 p.c of the people informed that they were happy and nearly 25 p.c informed that they were very happy. Indonesia topped the list of very happy countries in the world followed by India, Mexico, Brazil and Turkey. Hungary, South Korea, Russia, Spain and Italy are the least happy countries among the countries surveyed.
Speaking about the survey, John Wright, Senior Vice President of Ipsos Global said, “The world is a happier place today and we can actually measure it because we have been tracking it. It is not just about the economy and their well being. It is about a whole series of other factors that make them who they are today. There is a pattern that suggests that there are many other factors beyond the economy that make people happy, so it does provide one element but it is not the whole story. Sometimes the greatest happiness is a cooked meal or a roof over your head. Relationships remain the No. 1 reason around the world where people say they have invested happiness and maybe in those cultures family has a much greater degree of impact.”
When seen in the context of continents, the most happiest continents in the world are as follows: Latin America, North America, Asia, Africa and Europe.
The survey also found out that men and women are equally happy, married couple are more happier, people under 35 are more happier and people with higher education are more happier.
