Orkut is the Google owned social networking platform which is released to the public in 2004 and is named after its developer Orkut Büyükkökten who use to work with Google at the time of its release. Recently the base of the Orkut has been moved to Brazil from California of The United States. According to Alexa Internet stats at the time of this writing 60.6% of traffic to Orkut drives from Brazil, followed by India with 23.8% and Japan with 8.2% and very recently ComScore another independent web traffic analysis website has announced that Facebook has emerged as Top social networking website in Brazilian Market with a growth of over 192% increase in unique visitors when compared to the stats in Dec’11 to Dec’10, It is reported that Google’s new social networking venture Google+ is performing well in Brazil & India where Orkut (use to) have strong roots.

But the real question is how many of guys still using Orkut..? According to social media evangelist Google should have released a dedicated app for all of the mobile platforms earlier to save the future of Orkut.
